Mentor-less

My friend Katrice at the blog My Vicarious Life lost one of her mentors.  Her most recent blog posting highlighted a warm tribute to their relationship - after reading the post I came to the conclusion that he was astounding as a mentor.  It compelled me to ask the question:

Who is my mentor?

I am ashamed to say that I have never had a mentor as an adult.  I had people that I admired and aspired to please but never someone that placed a investment in me by pushing me towards my dreams and goals without giving up.  Someone that was my own personal cheerleader that was equipped with wisdom, consistency and life skills modeling.  At the age of 37 I have made the decision that I too want a mentor.

If I could place an ad - it would reflect the following:

MENTOR NEEDED
Willingness to share knowledge
Life role model
Values ongoing growth
Effective & Direct communication
Assist in goal setting
Provides guidance and constructive feedback
Demonstrates a positive attitude

Does anyone know someone that fits the ad?

  1. I hear you, girl. I actually keep thinking that I need a mentor to help me with this next phase. But, then I realize I do have them ... not in a way that we sit down and meet and compare notes, but people are there. You may find the same for yourself. If not, count on me!
